The Request
"Please, help us to build churches. We have no problem in winning people; our biggest challenge is that we don't have buildings. Others are mocking us because we don't have church buildings. You see, for us Ethiopians, you are real, you are something if you have a building. But if you don't, you are nothing, and you have no influence in society." - An Ethiopian Church Leader

The Importance of a Physical Building
Ethiopia is heavily populated with mosques. Other religions are making their presence known everywhere, with high visibility in the cities and even in the rural countryside. In fact, there may even be a mosque where it seems there are no people! They understand the impact on people and communities when a physical building is present.

Many of our partnering pastors have emphasized the importance of church structures. Not only do physical buildings demonstrate a constant presence, but they also provide a location for people to gather by the hundreds. Large gatherings provide strength in numbers for these believers and further fuel the great transformation of people's hearts to God. The pastors' requests are simple. They do not need anything elaborate - just a place that signals to the community that Christians are indeed "real and present."

We Provide the Roofs, Locals Provide the Labor
In the last few years, the Spirit of God has been sweeping across this country with thousands coming to faith in Christ. This has put a tremendous burden on the indigenous churches. Through our involvement with pastors and church planters in Ethiopia, God has opened a way for us to help build churches in Ethiopia that accommodate 200 believers for only $500 USD each. The local believers have committed to provide the land, the labor, and the materials for the walls, if we provide the funds for tin roofs. Without roofs, there are no buildings. What an opportunity!

A Place to Meet and a Passion to Share
We are confident that the addition of new churches will spawn even more transformed lives. These pastors are relentless in their commitment to win people to Christ and plant new churches, even at the risk of their own lives.

One of these devoted team members has only one leg. He hobbles from village to village on one crutch to share the good news of the Gospel. He is a brave and dedicated man risking his life and giving his all. Every day many others are doing the same.

Please consider supporting their efforts with your prayers and financial gifts.

Our goal is to provide 1,000 tin roofs for Ethiopian churches.
