In 1991 there were 1,100 churches in Cuba, and today there are over 15,000 churches and house churches. While religious equality is a freedom to all, the Cuban people live in abject poverty with an average income of $15 USD per month. The Cuban church desperately needs help from their brothers and sisters outside.

Because of the most recent political shifts in this country of over 11 million people, WorldServe remains attentive to new opportunities in sharing the Gospel. The inviting hearts of children and adults alike reveal their need and fulfillment in Jesus Christ. Providing the people with Bibles, children's books, and emergency assistance in times of crisis ignites a hope in the Lord to a Christ-starved nation. God's Word is alive and continues to spread through the economically impoverished country.

Read below about the three major initiatives that WorldServe is carrying out in Cuba.

Church Planting
WorldServe Ministries' 2005 launch of Accelerated Church Planting created Cuba 2.5K, a project dedicated to planting 2,500 house churches over the next five years, equipping each church with the tools necessary to be self-sufficient.
