 The underground house church movement in China is growing at an unprecedented rate, in large part due to their focus on theological training for their church leaders. The underground church in China believes it is critical for those who serve the Lord to have a firm foundation in sound theological principles and to be properly equipped to serve Him. However, as successful as their current programs are, there is still a great need to train more missionaries to reach out to their communities for Christ.Life at the Training Centers The Chinese underground church is not permitted by the government to have training programs of any kind, so they must teach covertly. For decades, the church has provided training in secret facilities to everyone from new Christians to seasoned church planters returning to refresh themselves with continued education. In order to minimize the threat of arrest and to maximize the number of people who can be trained, these training facilities can easily be relocated. By moving from one geographic region to another, more people have the opportunity to receive the training they need. Mobile Training Centers Provide six phases of Biblical and theological training. Phase 1: a one-month course that provides foundational Biblical truths to new believers. Each additional phases lasts up to six months and prepares pastors and evangelists for the field. Phases 2 & 3: train new church planters for their work Phases 4, 5, & 6: provide advanced education for pastors and evangelists with three or more years of experience in the field. Participants experience intense training. They study 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, with only short breaks for meals. Facilities are basic, without the benefit of common amenities like beds or baths. Participants sleep without mattresses on the floor of the facilities and only have the opportunity to shower every other week when they have a half day off. Life is hard for the students, but they value the intensive study and fellowship. How You Can Help Without a doubt, the underground church's training programs are performing tremendous work. |

The outstanding curriculum and skilled Bible teachers have helped groom missionaries to stimulate the church's dramatic growth. But there is much more that can be done.
