A Dust Storm Protects Pastors and God's Word
Thirty-five pastors, meeting in secret, hurriedly gathered their few belongings, grabbed their Bibles, and ran for cover. They had learned that a police raid was only moments away.

Then, by God's grace, a dust storm struck suddenly and delayed the police. When the officers finally made it to the secret location they found a layer of silt over everything. All signs of the pastors' rapid departure were veiled. The area appeared uninhabited and the pastors were safe. Their Bibles were safe as well...for another day.

One pastor who got away shared, "It was a miracle! If the dust storm hadn't come, we would have been arrested and all our Bibles confiscated. Praise the Lord!"

The Desperate Need
Too often the pastors are discovered, arrested, and all their precious Bibles confiscated. When that happens, the pastors are terribly saddened and mourn the loss of their Bibles more than anything else because there are so few and they are so desperately needed.

This is why our 12-month campaign to deliver one million Bibles to China is so vital. Who will get these Bibles? Read the experience from a visitor to China.

A Visit To The Underground Church, Teens Pray for Bibles
"
Early on a Sunday morning, 80 students were attending Sunday school in the Chinese underground church. As a westerner, I was overwhelmed by my first chance to experience Sunday school with the underground church.

These brave teens excitedly shared how three days earlier, at a youth camp (hard to comprehend within the underground church!), 58 non-believing young people had put their faith in Christ. I was ecstatic and told them for all of us, "Way to go! That is fantastic!"

But then I asked if these new believers had Bibles. The students smiled rather sheepishly, shrugged, and said, "We don't have any for them...yet."

I responded, "Pray that the Lord will provide...and when I return to North America, I will share this with our friends."

As I met with the students in the underground Sunday school, they were so apologetic. They told me, "We feel we are already too great a burden for you!" I want them to understand it is our honour...and our responsibility...to help them.

They then pointedly asked me to thank you for making such a great difference in their lives. They are profoundly grateful for your support."

An Impassioned Plea: One Million Bibles
We at WorldServe share this need with you so you will understand the importance of our 12-month China Bibles campaign, which will allow us to give these young people—and so many others—the precious Word of God.

Taking the Next Step
Now we must move forward to provide the next 1/3 of our initiative – 340,000 Bibles. It is a huge goal, but WorldServe believes that with your help and God's blessing, we will, in fact, reach our goal of one million Bibles for the underground church in China.

What an impact this campaign is making on the church in China and the expansion of the Kingdom!

It only costs $2.50 to cover the cost of printing, shipping and distributing a Bible in China. This means a gift of just $25 dollars will enable us to provide 10 Bibles. A gift of $100 will provide 40 Bibles. And $250 will provide 100. What great math!

Whatever amount you are able to give will make a difference as we seek to place God's Word in the hands of our suffering brothers and sisters.

Thank you so much for understanding the great urgency and importance of this initiative for our brothers and sisters in China. You are a great blessing to us and the church in China. God bless you!
