As we meet with leaders... of the suffering and persecuted Church around the world, we simply ask them, "How can we best serve you and help you fulfill the vision God has given you to reach your country and expand His Kingdom?" Their responses fall primarily into four categories which are WorldServe’s current priorities: The Word of God Churches around the world have been expanding and multiplying at a phenomenal pace. With this growth comes a tremendous need for Bibles, New Testaments and other Scripture materials. Church leaders around the globe are crying out for Bibles to undergird the faith of millions of new believers. Short-term Pastoral Support and Ongoing Training Despite substandard living conditions and great hardship, suffering Christians around the world stand firm for God. Often pastors and church planters get discouraged because they must focus their efforts on simply providing basic needs for their families. Indigenouse leaders explain that short-term financial help will enable and empower their pastors to work fulltime in evangelism and discipleship. WorldServe focuses its support on church planters moving out to establish new groups of believers, and on training in church planting and discipleship. Compassionate Assistance for Suffering Christians Based upon nearly three decades of hands-on experience, WorldServe has observed a strong correlation between those regions experiencing explosive church growth and two factors: 1) heavy persecution of believers by either governments or other major religious groups, and 2) an extremely low standard of living. Knowing that these difficult conditions provide such fertile soil for the expansion of the Church, it is imperative for us to come alongside our suffering brothers and sisters and provide compassionate assistance. |

Enabling Children's Ministries Increasingly, Christian leaders from around the world are asking for help in reaching their children with the Gospel. The United Nations reports that 3 billion of the world’s population are under the age of 18. For many years, WorldServe been focusing on children, developing and providing evangelistic literature, as well as supporting evangelistic and discipleship ministries. WorldServe developed the dynamic children’s evangelistic booklet entitled The Most Important Story Ever Told. Over 60 million copies have been distributed around the world in more than 100 languages. |
